Frequently Asked Questions
Construction and Materials
1. How are your frames constructed?
We use only the highest quality Australian-made gallery grade materials. Our frames are made from timber and kiln dried, with a depth of 3.8cm. In order to prevent indentation of the edge of the frame onto the canvas, our frames are constructed with a raised lip, which solves the problem nicely.
2. What kind of canvas do you use?
All of our canvases are high-quality matte cotton with a GSM count of 360. Our canvases are all coated to be protected against UV light, water, and dust damage.
3. What kind of printer and inks do you use?
We use the most advanced latex printing technologys and inks - the best printing equipment available.
4. What materials do you use for Giclée art prints?
Our giclée prints are museum quality for beautiful colour accuracy, using natural white, matte and ultra smooth 200 GSM archival paper. We use HP pigment archival inks for brilliant, durable colour, on acid and lignin free paper for fade-resistant longevity.
5. Will the print arrive ready to hang?
Our canvas prints are delivered stretched across a timber frame and ready to hang with mounting string attached.
Our giclée prints are delivered rolled in a tube, ready for you to frame and hang. Note: frames not included.
Care and Maintenance
1. I've never owned a canvas print before – how do you clean it?
Don't use any sort of cleaning liquid or compound, ever. A static-electricity dusting cloth can be used with a light motion, or a vacuum with a brush attachment can be used gently to remove dust.
2. How long will my canvas print last?
If you hang your print away from direct sunlight and keep it away from moisture and dust, your canvas print will last for years and look as stunning as it did on day one.
3. How should I care for my giclée print?
Handle your print only by the edges. The oil from your fingers can affect the PH of the paper and reduce the archival qualities. Fingerprints on dark areas will show up as sheen.
Avoid bending your print - a crease will be permanent.
Keep your print away from moisture, condensation and humidity. Although our inks are water resistant, water can still cause damage.
If possible, allow a few days for your print to breathe and the inks to dry completely before framing. Select only archival (acid-free) frames. Wood frames treated with chemicals or paints can omit harmful gases that can attack the ink and paper.
Providing you keep your print free of dust, moisture and direct sunlight, it will last for many years.
Shipping and Delivery
1. How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is absolutely free in Australia, the United States and Canada.
For all other countries, we charge a flat-rate shipping fee of $14.95, no matter how large the order.
2. Where do you ship?
We ship (nearly) anywhere in the world. Once you reach checkout you'll be able to see if we ship to your country, or feel free to Contact Us and we'll let you know.
Note: Although we can ship canvas prints to mainland United States, we can only ship giclée prints to Hawaii at this time.
3. Do you ship to PO Boxes?
Unfortunately, we can't ship to PO boxes. Delivery must be to a physical address. We're more than happy to deliver to your company or work address too.
4. How will my parcel be delivered?
For Australian orders that contain prints smaller than 1m x 1m, we use Australia Post for delivery. In this case, it may be possible to request that your parcel be picked up from the local Post Office.
For International orders and those containing larger prints, we organise courier delivery to your door. Please ensure you include delivery instructions for your parcel in the event that you are not home, as our couriers won't leave parcels unattended unless you have provided approval to do so.
5. How long does delivery take?
From the moment you click 'order' it usually takes about 5-10 business days for delivery. If you're wondering about the status of your order, you can track the progress here.
